For Caen’s new municipal library with a regional remit, the architecture firm OMA, responsible for project management, proposed enhancing the building with a bespoke signature piece of furniture.

Designed to allow an adult to read stories to children gathered around the same piece of furniture, it can accommodate up to six people.
Its felt covering allows for several configurations, from open to fully closed. Felt offers many advantages: acoustic insulation, durability, and ease of maintenance.
