Rattan makes it possible to create organic, flowing forms; for the Jonzac Convention Center, Tetrarc entrusted Métalobil with the design of a vast rattan acoustic suspended ceiling.
The project turns the sketch into a built work by integrating material, structural, acoustic, scenographic, and technical constraints.
Modelled in Rhino/Grasshopper, the 790 m² installation comprises seven shells, broken down into 235 cassettes totaling 3,500 parts and 26,000 fire-retardant rattan strands.
Designed, manufactured, and preassembled in the workshop before being installed on site, the project required one year of design studies and eight months of production and installation.
