The Fondation Carmignac exhibits a painted work by artist Ed Ruscha, THE SEA OF DESIRE, in its Museum garden. This work takes shape on a billboard 12m wide by 5m high, reaching a total height of 7.5m including the base.
The metal structure is anchored in concrete strip foundations. Located on the island of Porquerolles, in the Var region, it supports honeycomb aluminum paneling to withstand the characteristic winds of the area. Being in a marine environment, the entire metal framework was constructed from Corten steel sheets.
This art billboard is illuminated by 5 mechanical lighting masts at the top and 5 at the bottom, fixed to the rear of the panel on the metal structure.
