La Grande Vallée
— Grenoble (38) — 2025
Designer: Métalobil
Client: City of Grenoble
Location: Paul Mistral Park
At the heart of Paul Mistral Park, this monumental playground pays tribute to the history of Grenoble and hydroelectric power, transforming hydroelectricity into a playful and immersive experience. Sculpted in concrete with geometric shapes inspired by modernism, an artificial mountain becomes both an adventure playground and an educational tool.
The course invites children to embody the water cycle: climbing, sliding, and turning to understand gravity, energy, and their transformation into electricity through physical movement. Blending architecture, science, and imagination, the project offers a sensory mediation where play becomes a vector for knowledge, linking industrial heritage with the discovery of physical phenomena.
