It is for a new series of four ships owned by the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line named “Celebrity Edge” and intended for a high-end clientele that Métalobil intervenes for its know-how in naval layout.
//
Reading the post about this on the Austral Wright Metals website, one learns that, they were consulted by Chantiers de l’Atlantique and RCCL to improve the comfort of the rooftop garden (wind, acoustics, lighting, ambiance), Métalobil manufactures and installs various exterior fittings for the Celibrity Edge liners :

  • 11 decorative threes
  • 1 spoiler
  • 40 linear meters of windbreaks

//

//

Material used for the threes :

  • Steel sheets for the structure (reconstituted-welded profiles), bi-colored painted
  • Stainless steel lighting brackets and footrests
  • Top foliage and low base in Parklex© panels
  • Luminous eggs made of rotomolded natural PE plastic

//

Material used for the windbreaks :

  • Feet in steel, two-layer paint
  • Rust-effect powder coated aluminum perforated sheet metal unit

The Celibrity Edge is the newest of the Royal Caribbean liners. Crowned “Best New Ship” by Cruise Critic’s US, it is modern and luxurious. The exterior design is signed by the American architects WKK Architects, with whom Metalobil has worked to design, produce and install various arrangements of the rooftop garden: trees, wind breezes and spoiler. The peculiarity of this liner lies in its asymmetrical architecture. Length: 306m; width: 39m; number of cabins: 1467.
