Elastic Reflection

The frames of the work, made of aluminium, evoke microscope slides, computer windows, and also a connection to sports practice—hence mental gymnastics.
The 3D reading suggests a mechanical aspect: the impression of a form that is both fixed and in motion. Inside, various circles are suspended in space by numerous coloured tubes. Then, the branches around the rings form a star-like structure reminiscent of the schematic iconography of a neuron.
Finally, the overall view creates an analogy with the idea of a sample, a specimen taken from a larger, more complex whole. The stainless-steel mirrors placed at the centre of certain circles evoke “mirror neurons”.
