For Alexis de Tocqueville library, the new regional library of Caen (France), the project manager, OMA architects agency, asked us to enrich their work of an artistic furniture.

Thus, Metalobil won a conception-realization public tender and created a reading hut for adult and children.

Invented to enable an adult to read tales to children in one and only chair, it can host up to 6 persons.

Its lining in felt enables many configurations, opened to closed. The wool felt offers various advantages: sound insulation, robustness, ease of care.

Its framework is in birch and poplar plywood.

The reading hut also has two small adjustable lamps.

This furniture pattern is registered and will be produced in small serial production.
